Artist Kathy Hopwood developed the Go Figure! Workshop to focus on the figure as a 3-D abstract shape. Working with bendable metal, core materials, and paperclay, you will understand “The Bones, The Core and The Covering” concepts that translate to other forms of sculpture. We will create small 12" to 15" shapes that represent human or animal figures. Be as detailed, creative or fantastical as you like with your figure! Since paperclay airs dries, there is no firing process and you will be able to take your piece home with you that day. Your sculpture can be a self-standing figure or on a small wooded base (base will be provided).
There will be plenty of individual attention in an upbeat and creative atmosphere. Basic materials are included. A list of additional materials will be sent upon registration.
