This was by far the most useful short course I ever took…because it re-ordered my thinking entirely. I now understand when to resist and when not to - it is not good to take unnecessary chances!

I attended with my wife and found that we need to do some “team work” to be on the same page if faced together with a criminal. Through the role-plays plus practice of actual physical skills, we both felt better prepared. You did a solid job!

Ms. Hopwood's and Ms. Seigler's professional experience, training and teaching style can help anyone formulate strategies to stay out of harm's way. They conduct themselves at the highest professional level yet they posses great empathy for the student -- a balance other programs cannot match.

I drove three and one half hours to attend this workshop. I have attended many different `self-defense' programs but never have I come away as I have today feeling completely equipped to handle most situations. It was well worth the money, travel and
time.

Thank you! Both instructors are excellent. Great stories, great pace!

Self Defense for Men & Women

FBI statistics on assault in the United States show that a rape occurs every 60 seconds, and a mugging every 51 seconds.

This SafeSkills® program is for people who want to increase personal safety in their daily lives. No one likes to think about the possibility of violence happening to themselves or a loved one. However, most Americans have either known someone who has been attacked or have personally encountered dangerous situations.

Strategies are included for developing a team response if you are with family, friends or co-workers during a crime.

Available as a training workshop or a one-hour talk.

Instruction Options Include:

  • Myths and Realities of Crime
Knowing when and how assaults commonly happen is an important part of keeping you, and those you are with, safe. Being aware need not make you afraid or restrict your freedom. Increased awareness of when, how, and where crimes can occur is the first step in crime prevention.

  • Assessing Your Personal Risk
The goal of SafeSkills® is to give you knowledge and skills to help you stay safe. Through this program you will learn to create sensible plans to effectively deal with a crime.

  • Effective Physical Techniques
SafeSkills® teaches simple and practical techniques. Participants often tell us how much they appreciate our accessible teaching style.
